My Difference

You could teach me how to dance
Or catch a few words
And let me hear them sing.

You could walk with me
Point out the road
And let me go my own way

You could stand beside me,
And speak my name
When no one listens.

Or
You could find a box
Place me in it
Neat and labelled,
And leave a poorer world
Untroubled by my difference.
